Nearly 750 people came together on Oct. 3 for the 2009 Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Gala, “Here Comes the Sun,” at Qwest Center Omaha.
Sponsored by the Friends Board, the event achieved a revenue of nearly $300,000. Proceeds will benefit the new Specialty Pediatric Center, the destination for pediatric specialty care that will bring together more than 30 specialty clinics devoted solely to the care of children.
“The new Specialty Pediatric Center will set the standard for clinical innovation and technology while transforming the delivery of pediatric medical care,” said Roger Lewis, chief development officer and executive director of the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved with this year’s Gala, thousands of children in our community and across the Heartland will continue to receive the best medical care available for many years to come.”
The special evening included silent and live auctions and a Borsheims box raffle. Guests enjoyed entertainment by Beatles tribute band The Fab Four.
Honorary chairpersons were Dr. William and Sharon Griffin. Gala co-chairpersons were Jennifer Bettger and April Karstens.
